Springtime at the Trapp Family Lodge
Join us in the early spring at the Trapp Family Lodge sugarhouse as we renew the centuries-old tradition of making pure Vermont maple syrup. Every March when the days become longer and warmer, we start the tradition of maple sugaring.
After the snow melts, our 2,500 acres of superb ski trails become a hiker's paradise, blanketed with beautiful flora, fauna and wildflowers. Vermont's position on the flight path of the annual avian migration makes Stowe a favorite birder's destination.
Stowe is now recognized as a regional mountain biking mecca, and the resort boasts some of the finest custom built trails in VT. Springtime also opens the season for disc golf, and tennis on our red-clay courts, as well as more relaxed activities such as bird watching and yoga classes.

Autumn at the Trapp Family Lodge is alive with breathtaking fall foliage. Go hiking on our wooded trails under a canopy of red, orange and yellow leaves, then attend a wine tasting in our wine cellar, or do a little bird watching in our beautifully manicured gardens. The southward migration brings birders back for sightings of some rare bird species in the woods near Stowe, with the grounds of the Trapp Family Lodge a prime pit stop for the avian voyagers.
In the Fall there are plenty of activities for adults and children alike, between hiking, biking, campfires, nature scavenger hunts, live family entertainment, arts and crafts, indoor swimming, sauna, yoga, massage; the list goes on. For many visitors at this winding-down time of year the Sunroom, Library and Game Rooms in the Trapp Family Lodge are equally appealing, as places to catch up on that long postponed reading list, join in a board game with the family, or just enjoying afternoon tea and cookies.
