Special Events at Trapp Family Lodge

The tour begins with an overview of the von Trapp family history – actual vs movie version, discussion of the property’s history and the family’s early years in America. View a documentary film of Maria von Trapp’s memories during her final visit to her former home in Salzburg, Austria.

Whenever possible  a von Trapp family member either leads the tour or hosts a question and answer session.

Become part of a tradition that is thousands of years old by creating Pysanky, or Ukranian eggs. In this class, you will learn how to make beautifully decorated eggs using a special wax-resist process, as well as learn about the legends and symbols surrounding the creation of the Ukrianian eggs. Class members are provided with all necessary materials and a kit to bring home. Everyone will participate in a hands-on step by step process, to create their own beautiful eggs. For adults and children 10 years old and up. Cost: $30 per person. Advance sign up is recommended (x5722).
