Trapp Lager on Tap; Finally!

by Jean-luc Jenni, Director of Food & Beverage

On Friday, March 26, 2010 the first keg of Trapp Lager was on tap at Mr. Pickwick's in Stowe.

At first everybody seemed a little nervous, but the Vienna Lager served was absolutely fantastic.

Johannes von Trapp enjoyed his time talking with everybody at the bar. The first 50 liters were gone in an hour but we were not ready to leave until the next keg, a beautiful dry hoped golden lager, was taped and ready to taste. We met for a small gathering to celebrate a small beer, but it ended to be a great party with happy people celebrating the birth of a great beer.

enjoyed the stay, the beer was the best lager i ever had. vianna all night long.

Brewery opening festivities were top notch. Great launch. It was a privilege to be there. The beer is a great addition to the provenance of the Trapp Family Lodge, providing a new and unique product (and truly great tasting beer...congrats to Allen...) that hearkens back to the Lodge's Austrian roots.

The Dunkel(Dark) is my favorite. Dark in color, rich in taste, but not heavy like many dark beers. I can't wait until it is distributed in NH!

I visited the lodge the evening before the launch. I was fortunate enough to taste two of their three beers. All I can say is wow! The Dunkel (Dark Beer) is a must have, even if you are not a dark beer fan. I have never had such a clean tasting beer.

One more recommendation… Their BBQ Spare Ribs are well worth getting your hands dirty!

Excellent! Neat to see Trapps move into this direction :)! Even after all these years later, I still miss working there! Good Luck.

Can't wait to try it this summer!
