Vibrant Vegetables Growing on Our Mountaintop!
Vibrant Vegetables Growing on Our Mountaintop!
Ask any vegetable and they will tell you it has been a much better growing season so far this year in the Trapp Family gardens. We have had ample rain and now the temperatures are warming up due to the increase in sunshine.
With the guidance of Executive Chef Brian, we have made adjustments to the quantities and varieties of veggies we are growing for the dining room and deli. One example is that we have planted many more fingerling potatoes this year as they are very popular and expensive if purchased on the open market.
The month of June is always hectic with planting, weeding and preparation for the Stowe Garden Festival. The dates of this year’s festival were June 25th, 26th and 27th. The Festival offered many garden tours and workshops around the village including the Trapp Family Lodge, who was a main sponsor of the event.
We encourage you to plan a trek out to the vegetable and perennial gardens during your next stay at the Lodge or time shares. Ask any vegetable and they will tell you that it is the place to be for a relaxing vacation. We can talk and compare notes on gardening. You could also enjoy one of our garden tours with the very knowledgeable Kim Early.
See you this summer!
