Periodically we are looking for Maintenance Technicians; Dining Room Servers; Line Cooks, Dishwashers; Front Desk Agents; Bellmen; Housekeepers. Please submit an application to be considered for these periodic openings.
Restaurant Manager- Full Time, year round. The Restaurant Manager assists the Food and Beverage Director in all aspects of managing the dining room to ensure a smooth running operation, including the supervision and training of staff. Responsible for ensuring maximum guest satisfaction, the creation of a positive work environment, maximum profitability, and adequate supervision of dining room and dining room staff. Shifts will be primarily evening hours. Weekends and holidays required.
Deli Supervisor- Full Time, year round. Prepares food and serves restaurant patrons at counters or tables. Previous experience in a food & beverage line cook position. At least 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Weekends and holidays required.
Bakery Supervisor- Full Time, year round. Supervises and coordinates activities of Bakery staff engaged in preparation of desserts, pastries, confections. Responsible for managing department inventory, ordering supplies and produce. Planning and preparation of future banquet and event orders. Supervises activities of workers engaged in mixing, dividing, molding, proofing, baking, slicing, and wrapping of breads and pastries. Examines dough batter for specified consistency. Oversees operation of automatic machinery. Weekends and holidays required.
Line Cook- Full Time, year round. Trapp Family Lodge features European-style cuisine in our three restaurants- The Dining Room, The Lounge and our DeliBakery. Our executive chef has designed seasonal menus reflecting both Austrian and Vermont traditions. We are seeking a line cook with experience working in an a la carte line with grill and sauté stations. Culinary education preferred. Good safety and sanitation practices are required. Shifts include weekends and holidays.
Busser/ Food Runner- Full Time, year round. Clears, resets tables, assists servers and guests. A great attitude and customer service orientation is what's important! Weekends and holidays required.
Server- Seasonal and Full Time, year round. AM and PM shifts Serve guests meals and drinks in a polite and time efficient manner. Work as a team to ensure guest satisfaction with overall dining experience. Experience in fine dining preferred. Schedules vary. Weekends and holidays required.
AM Host- Full Time, year round and seasonal positions available. Attend to Guest needs in the Dining Room. Ensures the smooth running of the dining room by maintaining a presence on the dining room floor, seating guests, overseeing waitstaff and bussers. Fine Dining experience preferred. Weekends and holidays required.
Front Desk Reception Agent- Seasonal. Reception Agents are the first point of contact for our guests. Maintains records and completes follow up correspondence with guests. Ensures other departments are adequately aware of any special requests for each reservation. Facilitates check-in and check-out and guest billing. Minimum of one-year customer service experience with computers and cash handling. Springer-Miller HOST property management system experience preferred. Weekends and holidays required.
Reservations Agent- Part Time, year round. Answers all incoming reservation inquiries through phone, fax and mail. Guides perspective guests through rates and property amenities. Maintains sales of rooms and subsequent follow up of correspondence and rooming. Springer-Miller HOST property management system experience preferred. Schedule includes 9am-1pm, Monday through Friday.
Housekeeping- Full Time, year round. Crew leader positions available. The housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and stocking guest rooms and public areas to ensure Trapp Family Lodge's high standards of cleanliness and service. The applicant should have a customer focused mindset and positive attitude. The ability to multi-task and prioritize are essential. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Weekends and holidays required.
Laundry Attendant- Full Time, year round. Collects, sorts, washes/dries, folds presses and/or distributes linens and terry items in order to provide high quality laundry services to Trapp Family Lodge guests. The job requires being on your feet and lifting/moving linens, both dry and wet. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Weekends and holidays required.
Guest Activities Manager- Full Time, year round. Responsible for the planning, organization, implementation, coordination and control services of the Guest Activities Department, exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including budget, policies, procedures and staff supervision. We are looking for a motivated, creative applicant with one to two years experience planning and coordinating activities. Schedule and hours will vary depending on time of year.
IT Technician- Full Time, year round. The IT Technician is responsible for management and oversight of the organization’s information management systems, including all computer hardware and software installations and upgrades, the management of the phone system, internet and maintenance and support of these systems. Individual should have knowledge of wireless networks, SMS HOST, Windows and Microsoft Office; Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Retail Sales Agent- Seasonal. The retail sales agent assists guests with purchases and answers questions about Trapp Family Lodge recreational offerings. The applicant should have a customer focused mindset and positive attitude. Retail and register experience and knowledge of hiking and mountain biking is preferred. Schedules vary. Weekends and holidays required.
Fitness Center Attendant- Part Time, year round. The Fitness Center Attendant greets, schedules massages, and performs light housekeeping and seasonal pool maintenance. Candidates should have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and experience with cash transactions. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Weekends and holidays required.
