The Great Outdoors – Explore Our 2,400–Acre Playground

With 2,400 acres to explore, the Lodge is a logical choice for nature enthusiasts. Three packages take advantage of our unique setting — Trekking at Trapps, Edelweiss Gardening and Mind, Body & Soul Wellness. Peaceful trails meander through pine and hardwood forests, meadows and glacial fields, all home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife, perfect for trekkers and birders. June is Birding Month in Stowe, Naturalist and Outdoor Guide, Jan Axtell, can roust the shy Solitary Vireo or help track neo-tropical migrants, such as Warblers, that pass through Northern Vermont. Binoculars and Tory Peterson's "A Field Guide to the Birds" are available at our Sport & Gift Shop.

The Edelweiss Garden Package provides a behind-the-scenes look at the famous Trapp Family Lodge gardens and greenhouse. The many flower beds are a profusion of color and scent throughout the summer and provide the Lodge with its abundant floral arrangements. The organic garden supplies the kitchen with fresh, tasty herbs.
