Q: How many miles of trails are there?
A: We have 5 miles (8 kilometers) of single track and 20 miles (32 kilometers) of double track.
Q: Will I be able to ride your trails?
A: From first day on a mountain bike to decades of experience, we have something for you. Please refer to our detailed trail map and ask for specific trail recommendations for your ability at the mountain bike shop.
Q: I am not staying at the Trapp Family Lodge; am I allowed to use your trails for hiking and/or biking?
A: Yes, it will be $10 / day for day guests to hike or bike on the trails. Please call ahead for information and conditions: (802) 253-5755.
Q: Is there any additional riding nearby that I can access from the outdoor center trail network?
A: Depending on conditions we may be able to recommend some longer rides that include other trail networks in the area. Please ask in the bike shop for further information and also about the possibility of guided tours.
Q: Does the bike shop rent bikes?
A: Yes, we have a large rental fleet of Giant bikes including kids 16” through 24” mountain bikes, adult mountain bikes with either front only or full suspension, and men and women’s specific mountain bikes.
Q: Are mountain bike lessons offered? If so, when?
A: Yes, we will be offering mountain bike lessons starting June 1st. There will be group lessons available weekend days at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm and private lessons on the hour except for 12:00 pm.
Q: I have a .... bike that needs some work/parts, can you help me out?
A: Our bike shop techs have 20 years of experience fixing any and all types of bikes and will certainly find a way to fix your bike.
Q: When are the trails open?
A: A good rule of thumb is if there are puddles in the outdoor center parking lot, the trails are most likely closed. We work very hard to maintain the highest quality standards on our mountain bike trails and running them when they are wet damages both the trails and the surrounding environment by causing undue erosion.
In addition, the conditions will be posted every morning by 9:15am.
