Trapp Family Lodge

STOWE, VT 5.18.09
Sam von Trapp, Grandson of the legendary Maria von Trapp of Sound of Music
fame, will marry Elisa Maya Sepulveda at the
end of May 2009. The nuptials will take place in a tiny chapel built in the
late 40's by Sam's uncle Werner, as thanks for his
safe return from World War II combat.

In a case of life imitating art, Sam von Trapp met his bride-to-be in the
Andes mountains, when she was exactly 16 going on
17. He was a 23 year old, globe-trotting ski instructor, and she a fetching
young member of a family of Chilean ski industry
entrepreneurs. Several years would pass before the two would meet again,
declare their love for each other, and plan a life
together in Vermont.

Sam found his way to Chile after graduation from Dartmouth with degrees in
geography and economics, and a yen for adventure. His next twelve years
were spent commuting between Brazil and the dueling winters of Aspen and
Portillo, Chile, where he developed a loyal ski client following, a side career in
modeling and TV commercials, and a spot on People Magazine's
most eligible bachelors list.

After having spent her early years working in her family's Las Mulas Summer
Camp and the famous Hotel Portillo, Ms
Sepulveda relocated to central California for a University degree in
landscape architecture and a six year stint as owner/manager
of her own landscape design and construction company. She is also an
accomplished horse trainer and Ashtanga Yoga instructor.
Sam and Elisa now live on the Trapp Family Lodge property where Sam is
working on mountain bike trails, snowmaking, The
Trapp Hill Brewery and many other aspects of the family business. Elisa is
creating a yoga program for the lodge and is also designing
their new house.

The Trapp Family Lodge is the centerpiece of a 2,400 acre scenic estate in
Stowe, Vermont and a charming year-round family vacation destination.
Beginning with just 27-rooms in 1950, today the property boasts a 96 room
main lodge, 100 two-bedroom guest houses and 19 luxurious three-bedroom
villas. A wide variety of activities is offered for all seasons ‹ summer brings
unparalleled hiking and mountain biking, Round Robins tennis clinics,
horse-drawn wagon rides, concerts in the meadow, weekly baking classes
and more. Trapp Family Lodge¹s nostalgic décor reflects the von Trapp¹s
Austrian heritage while the unique dining options blend the gourmet traditions
of Austria and Vermont. For reservations and more information
