The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum will host its first Epic Summer Event at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe on Aug. 6.
People can pick from four options: A 40-kilometer individual mountain bike race, a 40k mountain bike relay race (two people doing one 20k lap each), a 40k or 20k individual mountain bike ride, or a 10k trail run.
Each registrant receives a commemorative hat, an invitation to a post-race barbecue, and discounted admission to the Beach House on the Mountain Festival Aug. 5 and 6 in Stowe (www.beachhouseonthemountain.com).
Both registration and the start will be at the Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center. The course will run along the famed fire roads, double track and single track on the Trapp Family Lodge property. The barbecue will be at the Trapps Deli/Bakery and feature Trapps Lager.
“This is a great new event for the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum,” said Tom Sequist, chairman of the museum's board. “It highlights the terrain that makes Vermont unique, but more importantly the community of businesses, volunteers, and supporters needed to keep the museum thriving.”
Sponsors are Marker Bindings, Metropolitan Music, Optical Expressions, Stowe Reporter, The Sugarman, Trapp Family Lodge and World Cup Supply.
