Teams on cross country skis and snowshoes will race in Vermont to raise money for cancer research.

The annual Relay for Life NordicStyle, an overnight event, takes place March 10-11 at Trapp Family Lodge Stowe.

Patrick Spain, a wildlife biologist, explorer and host of the National Geographic Channel's "Beast Hunter," will be the guest speaker. He is also a cancer survivor. Organizers of the event say he credits his survival to research funded by the American Cancer Society.
