Stowe Charities Inc. has donated $10,000 to Copley Hospital in Morrisville and $10,000 to the Vermont Foodbank.

The donations are the net proceeds from Stowe Charities’ signature event, the annual Stowe Wine and Food Classic held at Trapp Family Lodge.

In its 14-year history, the event has raised close to $250,000 for Vermont charities.

The 2012 event paired featured dishes, prepared by leading Vermont chefs, with top-rated wines from around the world. The weekend kicked off with a tasting at the West Branch Gallery in Stowe before moving to the Trapp Family Lodge for artisanal cheese and local craft beer pairings, an oyster and wine seminar, a gala dinner, and a grand tasting event.

The 15th annual Stowe Wine and Food Classic is scheduled June 21-23 at Trapp Family Lodge.

The incoming president of Stowe Charities is Donna Cox-Davies, owner of D2 Solutions LLC, a Morrisville-based marketing communications and public relations agency. The board’s outgoing chairman is Ed Schwarz of Fine Wine Cellars.
