Climbed Every Mountain - The Story Behind The Sound of Music

8.15PM BBC2

Sue Perkins (above, with Maria von Trapp) heads to the Alps to unearth the true story behind the most popular film musical of all time, and discovers that the town of Salzburg has an uneasy relationship with The Sound of Music. Then it's off to Vermont to meet the real von Trapps in their Austrian-style chalet

Dad's Army Night

5.05PM BBC2

A welcome re-visit to Walmington-on-Sea begins with the documentary John Le Mesurier: It's All Been Rather Lovely, in which the contributors include Clive Dunn. A tribute to Dunn follows, as does the 1971 movie spin-off.

Freddie Mercury: the Great Pretender Director's Cut

9PM & 1.55AM BBC4

Another chance to see an unexpectedly moving Imagine film about Freddie Mercury's patchy but ultimately triumphant (with his Barcelona duet with the opera star Montserrat Caballe) solo career.

Playhouse Presents: A Young Doctor's Notebook

10PM & 3.30AM SKY ARTS 1

The concluding episode finds young Vladimir (Daniel Radcliffe) opening a syphilis clinic.
