It is official, apple season has arrived.

Chef Cody Vasek of the Trapp Family Lodge fries apple fritters and serves it with Trapp Family Lodge apple cider for the Morning Show.

Apple Fritters with Apple Cider

Ingredients:

Pate Choux

1/2 cup butter

1 cup flour

1 cup apple cider

4 whole eggs

3 tablespoons sugar

Instructions:

Bring the butter and cider to boil. Add flour until it forms a ball. Add eggs one at a time, cool.

Apples

1 Cortland

1 Gingergold

1 Honeycrisp

Combine the pate choux with diced apples skin on.

To Serve

Have a deep fryer on 325 degrees, scoop fritter mix in hot oil, one at a time, until golden brown. Drain on towel, garnish with powdered sugar and maple syrup. Serve with cider.
