Great trails, lots of lodging and dining options Vermont has many, many cross country options and I haven't skied all of them. But my personal favorite is the Trapp Family Lodge.

Culminating more than a decade of planning, Johannes von Trapp and The Trapp Family Lodge are proud to announce the launch of Trapp Lager and Trapp Microbrewery. This new endeavor continues in the spirit of the lodge, established more than fifty years ago by Maria von Trapp, matriarch of the family whose story inspired The Sound of Music; blending European and American traditions.

Trapp's, of course, was the very first cross-country ski resort in the country, and Sam Von Trapp, the new vice president, has put in an ambitious snowmaking system that lets them get started early in the season and keep going after it looks like spring is winning.Trapp's is just a wonderful place to visit in March.
