For all four seasons, the area surrounding Trapp Family Lodge offers breathtaking scenery and outdoor adventures. While everything is green and flowery in the spring and summer, in the fall, the gorgeous Vermont fall foliage sets a brilliant backdrop for outdoor activities. When the snow begins to fall, Stowe is transformed into a dazzling winter playground.

Hiking, Biking & Horseback Riding

Our resort’s located near Spruce Peak Mountain, Mount Mansfield State Forest, Smuggler’s Notch, and several other destinations that offer lots of outdoor activities.

In the spring, summer and fall, enjoy hiking along trails like Pinnacle Trail, which wends its way along a shaded path to a lovely view at the top.

Biking is also a popular activity when the ground is snow-free. Visitors enjoy mountain biking trails like Cotton Brook, or pedaling along Stowe’s award-winning Recreation Path.

For those who prefer adventures in the saddle, Stowe offers lovely areas to explore on horseback. The Equestrian Center at Topnotch Resort & Spa offer guided trail rides around pretty scenery.

Canoeing, Kayaking & Fishing
